The Hojicha
Origin: Nara, Kagoshima, and Shizuoka, Japan
Roast Level: Dark roast, full and deeply aromatic
Harvest: Late April to Early May

Sourced from three of Japan's most respected tea-growing regions, Nara, Kagoshima, and Shizuoka, each chosen for what it contributes to a roast that is warm, earthy, and slightly caramel with almost no bitterness. Low in caffeine and made for the evening, it's the drink that replaces the ritual of coffee without asking you to give anything up.
The Stoneware
Each caddy is hand engraved and finished individually. No two are identical. The weight of it in your hand, the texture of the engraving, the way it looks sitting on a shelf: these are things that photographs approximate but don't fully capture.

To Brew
Hojicha powder is prepared similarly to matcha. To get started you will need a matcha teaware set including a bamboo whisk, a wide bowl, a fine sifter, a tea scoop, and water heated to 175°F. Sift your powder first for a smoother result, whisk with hot water until frothy, then add steamed milk if you prefer a latte.
